The Richter Optik are a great range of scopes offering amazing value for money and very good quality optics. All of our Richter Optic Scopes come with a set if fitted flip up scope covers. Nice clear optics and crisp Mil Dot reticle. 8 x 56 gives 8x magnification and a huge 56mm objective lens that gives fantastic light gathering - a very good option for a .22  or .17HMR Rimfire.

To get a handle on these scopes we fitted one to an Anschutz Bolt Action .22LR and one to a .177 HW100 which we later moved onto an SMK springer.

We've had the one on the Anschutz Rifle for 8 months and from day one it shot fantastic groups and it has never budged a bit. The rifle and scope have had some stick around our shoot and they have plugged hundred's of bunnies and I'd not hesitate in recommending the brand and I won't be changing the scope. In my opinion the scope is very sturdy and I've tested this to the limit having it banging around in the vehicle. I'm using the 3-9 x 50 model so light gathering is good enough for me up until the point I can no longer see to spot bunnies. I like the flip up covers and they saved me a tenner!!

On the HW100 my 12 year old lad tested the 4-16 x 50 on rabbits for a month and managed 170 rabbits and he's never complained once. I'd taken an MTC Viper off this rifle without telling him and he never said a word so I don't even know if he noticed? OK the light gathering at the very last bit of light isn't as good as the MTC but it costs a fraction of the price and I can assure you that it ran it close enough for it to be a fantastic option for the budget conscious shooter looking for a robust, practical and reliable scope that will work well in practical hunting conditions.

When we stuck the 4-16 x 50 onto the SMK Springer we had an interesting experience!! My little lad moved the scope from the HW100 to the SMK XS-36 and fitted SMK mounts. He then proceeded to zero it and could not manage to hold a decent group and eventually gave up. I checked and found that the mounts were poorly machined and were moving so we put on a set of Sportsmatch mounts and that was the job sorted. We have kept the XS-36 in the office for the last 2 months and used it regularly to shoot rabbits in the back field as well as Rooks & Jackdaws of the bird table - we have now upt a tin of 500 pellets through this combo and the zero is still spot on which I'm chuffed about as the XS-36 has a pretty evil thump!
